Mothers Against Drunk Driving, better known as MADD, has issued a public plea to actor Shia LaBeouf, asking him to please install "ignition interlock devices" on all vehicles registered in his name, and to complete "the official punishment/sanctions that may be levied in the event of his conviction for DUI." An ignition interlock device is a breath tester about the size of a cell-phone that prevents the car from starting if the driver has measurable alcohol (set to a predetermined level) in their system. "We hope Mr. LaBeouf will voluntarily use the opportunity of his DUI arrest to educate his fans -- and the country -- about this life-saving device," MADD writes on its blog. Shia was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving after an accident early Sunday morning. Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department spokesman Steve Whitmore tells "The Insider" the other driver involved blew a red light and Shia did not cause the accident. The other party will be cited in the crash, the Sheriff's spokesman said.
