NBC’s Biggest Loser trainer and nutritionist, Kim Lyons has written a book, Your Body, Your Life, which is described as the 12-week program to optimum physical, mental & emotional fitness.
Here are some tips from Kim Lyons’ Your Body, Your Life on how to indulge without the bulge.
Dont show up hungry “People tend to starve themselves before a party, but then they pig out,” says the married L.A.-based health guru, 34. Lyons suggests snacking on protein-rich foods such as almonds or string cheese before heading to a fete.
Beware of booze “Drinking is a huge downfall,” warns Lyons. “You can ingest 1,000 calories before dinner!” The best options? A 4-ounce glass of white wine (100 calories) or champagne (90 calories).
Choose treats carefully Its no secret id eggnog are bad news, some surprising offenders? “Cranberry sauce is a nightmare there are cups of sugar in there!” Lyons says of the 400-calories-a-cup side dish. And, at 500 calories a cup, candied yams are also a big no-no.
Keep exercising Cold outside? Grab a jump rope! Twenty minutes burns about 200 calories. Another fun workout: “Before shopping, do laps around the mall,” says Lyons. “You’ll work off calories and find deals!”
Kim Lyons’ Your Body, Your Life was scheduled to be available after January 1, but it has been released a little earlier and is available now. [via Us Weekly]
