I'm not a sneaker head. I'm not even really into sneakers at all (since I bike around SF I'd just mess them all up anyway). Saying something like that in the streetwear scene is like revoking God while at church, but fuck it, I'm just not into owning more pairs of shoes than my girl (and paying more for them).
So I came across this art gallery. Granted, I'm a bit late to the game with this one as it was exhibited in June 2005, but still, I'm sure many Grooveeffect readers probably haven't seen it. This was exhibited in the Helium Cowboy gallery in Hamburg and features works by Nina Braun, who hand stitched various sneakers and other artwork for her 'Sneak Like a Panther' show. Some are really well done, and for the diehard sneaker head with some money to burn it might be a nice addition to their collection.
Even though the exhibit is now over, you can check out pics and order the pieces that haven't already been sold
