Book SaleThis past week has been National Library Month, and as a big fan and user of my public library, I feel remiss at not mentioning it before now. However, I found one last chance ⿿ with the Friends of the Seattle Public Library Book Sale. A couple hundred thousand items will be on sale at this semiannual sale, including artwork, audio cassettes, books, CDs, software, records (remember those?), sheet music, Viceocassettes and DVDs. If the ⿿rules⿿ of the sale are any indication, past sales must have become a little too raucous. I wasn⿿t expecting to see ⿿be courteous⿿ having to be explained to a bunch of book lovers. My personal tip: Bring a tote bag to carry your books, both while you shop and for carrying home. It will make shopping a lot more comfortable if you don⿿t have to hold the books in your arms. Location: Warren G. Magnuson Park, Building #30. 7400 Sand Point Way NE (northeast of the University of Washington). Free parking. Map here. Most books are around $1. Some collectible and special items are priced higher, but are still good buys at substantial savings. Date & Time: April 21st - 22nd, Saturday, 9 am - 5 pm, and Sunday, 11 am - 4 pm. A special members only preview is Friday, April 20th, 6:30 - 9:30 pm. (Memberships will be sold at the door.) Transit: Use Metro #74 or #75. If you miss the Book Sale this weekend, you can put the dates for the fall sale on your calendar ⿿ September 28th - 30th.
