9/9 The Promenade TULEH

Bryan Bradley gave his Tuleh girl a Roman makeover, but not the ancient kind. He transformed 36 models into Alta Moda babes with big hair and bigger eyelashes. Rather than providing descriptions for the outfits, the cheeky designer simply gave each model an Italian name, or in some cases, different ones than they already had, and divided them into groups like Students, Classic Tuleh Girls and Borghese Princesses (in our translation from Italian). In past seasons, Tuleh has occasionally taken a serious turn to focus on meticulous couture level workmanship, but this time, to his audience's delight, Bradley ramped up the bold exuberance that the label first became known for. Standouts included Tatyana as Francesca in a luminous yellow draped column and Michaela, Simone and Tiiu as Gabriella, Tiziana and Susana, three glammed out beach girls in splendid flowing chiffon caftans over shiny bikinis. Bradley is taking on a prominent role in the continuing efforts to revive Lord & Taylor, but this show proved that his additional workload hasn't affected his day job, and Tuleh fans can expect more of what they have come to love next Spring.
