Vivienne Tam Moves South in SoHo

Img_0214 Vivienne Tam had to close her Greene Street boutique recently (perhaps to make room for Evisu?) but she wasted not a minute finding a new location. Tam will move South to the Northeast corner of Mercer and Grand Streets as the sole retail tenant at 40 Mercer, the new building designed by celebrated architect Jean Nouvel. With the Northern blocks of SoHo filling up with more and more fashion tenants, the unofficial southern boundary at Broome Street is being breached more and more. Grand street has long been home to destination stores like the eclectic boutique IF, British designer Ted Baker, and Yohji Yamamoto recently redesigned store, with Scoop opening its mega store South of Broome on Broadway, it looks like the once quiet thoroughfare may become as busy as Prince or Spring. Perhaps Jerry's should look for a new space there while they can still afford it.
