Just as a reminder (because I am still getting requests), I currently cannot scan magazine articles in because I am not home for the month of July and do not have access to a scanner. Sorry for the inconvenience!
Anyway, In-Touch Weekly is running an article in last week’s issue about how celebrities dress certain ways to appear slimmer. For instance, Jessica Simpson wears straight-leg jeans and high heels, which supposedly slims her out. Former plus-sized model Jordin Sparks wears belted and waist-enhancing dresses to appear slimmer. She says this:
“Sometimes I look at super-skinny, stick-figure girls and think, ‘Oh, no, that would look so weird on me,’” says the former plus-size model. “She’s not rail-thin, but she’s totally in proportion because she’s so tall.”
Interestingly enough, Jessica Alba claims to wear figure-hugging spandex bodysuits under all of her red-carpet dresses, plus a padded bra. Britney Spears wears a straight-lined dress to tone down her curves.
Many celebrities also get their busts and other body parts digitally enhanced or reduced for movie posters. This includes Kate Winslet, Emma Watson for Harry Potter, Keira Knightley in King Arthur, and Lindsay Lohan in Herbie: Fully Loaded.
