The most official bitches are back at it again with a new summer collection for 2007. The collection has evolved style wise from past seasons with more color and 'attitude spittin' tag line statements, but all I'm seeing are t-shirts and hoodies every time.
The one thing women's streetwear brands are still missing is the lifestyle element of their customer. It's like I can rock t-shirts and hoodies all day long, but that's not style. Streetwear style is a personal attitude and your clothing reflects that. It's like having the balls to say something, but not necessarily saying it on the shirt that we wear. It's like being cool, hip, and sexy, but a t-shirt is not going to make us feel that way.
When women streetwear brands are designing their collections they need to think about the lifestyles that us girls are living - what are we doing with our time. We're not sitting at home in our t-shirts and hoodies watching TV all day long (well, maybe some of us are, but not all). We're working or going to school, we're chillin' with our friends and going to bars, clubs, and restaurants, we're listening to music that we signify with. Sometimes we want to wear heels and not some colorful sneaker our guy friends are wearing.
But then again this is my rant on women's streetwear. Everyone one is going to have a different opinion. MOB - stay fresh, respect.
