Blow a Kiss Courtesy of Burberry

Burberry’s on a mission to add a little heart and soul to technology.

The fashion house has partnered with Google to create a platform where users can send virtual kisses worldwide, aptly called Burberry Kisses. Those looking to send a little affection can use a webcam to capture an image of their lips or pucker up on their touchscreen devices, choose between five Burberry lip shades, and add a personal message before sending it off.

The sender can then follow the kiss envelope on its journey to the recipient via Google Earth and its Street View technology. Free to use on Google Chrome and mobile phones via the brand’s website, the maps will also include information on where the latest kisses are headed as well as which region is getting the most love.

Burberry wanted a way to unite its fans worldwide by telling a love story that makes digital personal. “We’re constantly thinking about how we translate the emotion of what we create and experience in the real world into the digital space, whether that’s capturing the energy and excitement of a live gig, the hum and buzz of anticipation before a runway show, or just the feeling you get when you pull on your trenchcoat on a rainy morning,” Christopher Bailey, the brand’s chief creative officer, told Women’s Wear Daily.

Looks like we’ll have to get out pouts ready for their closeup!
