Cara Delevingne sure is putting her Chanel sneakers to good use. Fashion’s edgiest it-girl, along with up-and-comer Binx Walton, stars in Chanel’s fall/winter 2014 campaign, shot by designer Karl Lagerfeld himself. Delevingne announced the campaign on Thursday via Instagram, per usual.
The series of photos echos fashion’s current focus on fitness and high-end athletic attire by situating the models in a boxing gym. Leather jogging pants and lace up sneakers project the fitness theme (not to mention make Delevingne and Walton look totally badass), but the presence of pearls keeps the campaign quintessentially Chanel. After all, there’s something to be said about Lagerfeld’s recent dichotomous choices: power suits with sneakers, runways in supermarkets, glamour at the rodeo, modeling and sparring. They all somehow just work. And while boxing might seem to have little to do with the iconic fashion house, we definitely see the value in having the skill to protect and defend our beloved 2.55′s in case of an emergency.
