Cara Delevingne Is A Designer, Too

By  June 10, 2014

CaraDDKNYIt’s only Tuesday and our girl Cara Delevingne is already having a week. On Monday morning, we learned that the British model is set to star in a film alongside Zach Galifianakis, Christoph Waltz, Cressida Bonas (yes, Prince Harry’s Cressida Bonas) and Judi Dench. Then on Monday evening, Delevingne announced that she’s launching a capsule collection in collaboration with the one and only DKNY. Oh, and she’s casting two to three additional models to star in the campaign with her. She did this via Instagram, natch. Let the selfies and hashtags commence: #CaraWantsYou and #Cara4DKNY.

Though we’re not entirely surprised about this glorious union—because, well, we’ve only been wishing we could dress like Delevingne for years, now—but it seems that the model is. “I can’t believe that some random, rough ideas have finally turned into my own collection…designs with my own name on them and in collaboration with the iconic DKNY brand,” she said. “They always encouraged my design input, my personal style and my ideas from the very beginning of our working relationship.”

The collection, which will hit stores in November, features Delevingne’s favorite styles like a sweat suit, tanks, bombers and, you guessed it, beanies. Most of the pieces are unisex, which may help us achieve that androgynous look we’ve been going for and make it just a tad more authentic. Because, after all, that kind of take-it-or-leave-it authenticity is the name of this model’s game. “DKNY is urban and edgy but, most of all, it’s individual,” Delevingne said. “They truly embrace the weirdness in all of us, so you can really be yourself.”
