On March 8th, women around the world will acknowledge and honor one another as International Women’s Day has allowed for over 100 years. The global “holiday” is one that celebrates the economic, political, and social achievements of women past, present, and future. With a long history of fighting for women’s rights now behind us, it is our generation’s privilege to celebrate the amazing achievements that women make each and every day.
To do this, Godiva is kicking off their Lady Godiva Program, which honors women who exemplify “the selflessness, generosity, and leaderships at a national or global level.” The 2014 honorees, Erin Dinan, Stephanie Bowman, and Molly Rockamann, and their efforts were celebrated on March 4th at Henri Bendel’s Rent The Runway boutique. The event featured tons of chocolate treats, but more importantly, showcased the honorees’ ongoing projects that improve their communities. Each of the women were granted $10,000 to expand their projects.
You can nominate a leading lady in your life for the 2015 award on the program’s website, giving her an opportunity to receive support from Godiva to continue whatever admirable and hard work she has done for her community. The famed chocolatier will recognize and honor women through exclusive products, partnerships, and other means of support. Check out the website for videos about this year’s honorees and nominate a woman who embodies Lady Godiva for next year’s program.
