After the rousing success of last year’s charity initiative, Beauty with Benefits, the CEW and QVC are out to make the event bigger and better to help those fighting cancer.
Set to hit the airwaves on April 17th, the two-hour special will showcase 19 donated prestige beauty products from brand favorites like bareMinerals, Clarisonic, Clinique, Fresh, Clarins, and more with 80 percent of the proceeds benefitting Cancer and Careers, which helps patients and survivors get back into the workplace with expert advice, educational events, and more. Plus, beauty buffs that scoop up an item the day off will receive a sample filled red cosmetic case curated by makeup artist and cancer survivor Sonia Kashuk.
Thanks to the initial success of the special broadcast, QVC bumped up its supplies with 45,000 units for sale (9,000 more than last year) with Tiffani Thiessen serving as the face of the campaign this time around.
But for CEW President Carlotta Jacobson, it’s all about raising awareness of Cancer and Careers for survivors. “Because of the contributions, we have the benefit of having more people know about us and the ability to increase awareness,” Jacobson told Women’s Wear Daily. “The worst thing is when you hear of someone that could have used our services and they didn’t know about us. The bottom line is to let as many people know we exist and that we have a program that can really help them continue to work.”
