CFDA Faceoff: Bright Like Burch or Mysterious Like Minkoff?

By  June 03, 2013

Two familiar faces of the Council of Fashion Designers of America took to the red carpet for the association’s awards night June 3rd in very different, but equally gorgeous styles. Although neither Tory Burch nor Rebecca Minkoff were nominated this year, the trendsetters didn’t shy away from standing out in meticulously styled head-to toe-looks.

Burch donned a bold floor-length purple and navy gown with “Chanel” stamping. She completed the sweet fitted number with turquoise jewelry. Minkoff, who was accompanied by actress Jessica Stam, wore a custom designed LBD with a sultry silhouette and cheeky slit. She accessorized the alluring look with her own boxy Rebecca Minkoff Collection Clutch, the Pave Clasp Link Necklace from her Resort 2014 Collection, and a pair of show stopping metallic ”Ava” pumps.

As Burch and Minkoff are prominent designers the modern, everyday woman, it’s no wonder that both ladies went with wearable silhouettes and practically styled looks that could easily make the transition from the red carpet to real life. From a classy summer wedding to a warm evening outing to the opera, whether you’re into vibrant colors like Burch or subtle black year round like Minkoff, take inspiration from their elegant ensembles.
