Charlotte Ronson Crafts a Summer Mug for Starbucks

By  June 04, 2013

Summer is looking a little more stylish at Starbucks thanks to Charlotte Ronson.

The designer crafted a whimsical ceramic mug that captures the spirit of the lazy season, namely taking naps under the sun. The coffee cup showcases a sketch of a woman falling asleep on a bed of daisies made of Ronson’s signature floral print, capturing her downtown flirty aesthetic. “I’m inspired by surroundings,” she said. “When designing, I keep myself and my friends in mind. Fashion is a form of expression. You want to wear something because it speaks to you and you love it.”

This isn’t first time the coffee chain has tapped designers to revamp some of their offerings. Christian Siriano added his own touch to the mini Starbucks card in 2009 while Rodarte expanded the idea to include a mug, cup sleeve, and tote just last year. Starbucks even invited designers to splash their morning Joe on a series of shirts in a collaboration with the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund award in 2011.

Starting today, you can snap up a mug at StarbucksStore.com for $14.95 and will be available while you wait for your morning Misto on June 25.
