Christian Dior is Dressed to Impress and Ready to Get Art-y

By  April 05, 2013

File this under reasons to plan a trip to France in the very near future: more than 70 Christian Dior dresses are set to be paired with Impressionist paintings in their founder’s home turned Granville museum this spring through the summer! The paintings are on loan from Musèe d’Orsay, the Musèe Marmottan Monet and other art destinations and will “echo the colors, silhouettes and dreamy femininity of works by Edgar Degas, Georges Seurat, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Berthe Morisot and other artists,” according to Women’s Wear Daily.

This magnificent showcase is happening during the Impressionist festival in Normandy and will be accompanied by a tailored perfume path in Dior’s villa’s garden and a Rizzoli book by fashion historian and curator of the exhibition, Florence Miller. The exhibit opens May 4 and will run through September 22.
