The supermodel put a twist on the classic campaign by featuring her husband, filmmaker Ed Burns, sharing intimate moment on a quiet beach in Turks & Caicos. The pair snuggles in the sand in black and white for the Eternity Calvin Klein 25th anniversary edition that will be on display in June while the couple appears in color for the upcoming Eternity Night campaign that will launch in August.
It marks the first time the Burns have shot an ad together, and Turlington Burns joked about working with her husband as opposed to another model. “In the beginning we were pretty giggly,” she told Women’s Wear Daily with a laugh. “And after the first day, [Ed] said to me, ‘I’m so glad you’re not doing this with somebody else.’ I said, ‘I wouldn’t be doing this with someone else.’ Usually you pretend to be intimate on these types of campaigns, and when they go to change a lens or the roll of film is complete, you’re like, ‘So, how about those Mets?’ It’s just awkward.”
To celebrate her triumphant return to the fragrance brand, Calvin Klein has started the Eternity Project to benefit Turlington Burns’s Every Mother Counts foundation to “foster the message of eternal love and commitment through the support of various charitable endeavors to help better individuals and communities,” Steve Mormoris, senior vice president of American fragrances for Coty Prestige, said. Plus for one week starting May 30th, 100 percent of the proceeds from the 25th anniversary edition bottles will benefit her charity.
Spreading love and giving back? What a wonderful way to celebrate such a big anniversary!
