Circumvent a ‘Bad Hair Day’ With a Low Ponytail

By  June 30, 2011

Bad hair days happen to the best of us, but all too often we resign to them without putting up a fight. Well, here’s a quick fix—the sleek and shiny low ponytail. Singer Ciara works a deep center part, while supermodel Adriana Lima inserted a short angled version at her hairline. Either way, both looks are très chic and incredibly quick and easy to do—less than 5 minutes actually! Below, our how-to steps and a few of our product recommendations.

Step 1:
After cleansing and conditioning, apply volumizing mousse to your mane and blow dry hair straight;

Step 2:
Sparingly mist a lightweight nourishing oil on your strands;

Step 3:
Brush your hair back with a boar bristle brush, and tautly secure at the nape of your neck with a snag-free elastic;

Step 4:
Flat iron the ponytail if you’d like;

Step 5:
Finish with a bit of shine spray.
