With all the heat damage our strands sustained during the extra long winter, our ends have had it. Luckily, Aveda’s Cut-a-thon is back to not only tame tresses but to provide clean water around the world.
Aveda salons around the world will volunteer their time on April 7th to offer haircuts, styling manis, and waxing, as well as complementary hand, scalp, neck and shoulder massages during your service. The proceeds will benefit the brand’s Earth Month partner, the Global Greengrants Fund, to fund clean water projects for communities globally. The salon brand raised a total of $5.5 million last year, setting a Guinness World Record for Most Money Raised for Charity Through Haircuts in a 24-Hour Period! But they’re aiming higher this year with a goal of $6 million.
If you can’t make it to the salon, you can still support the cause with Aveda’s 2014 Light the Way candle. Not only do all proceeds of the sweet and spicy scented illuminator benefit the brand’s clean water efforts, but the glass and carton were manufactured with recycled and reclaimed materials.
