Five Ways to Sparkle

By  November 11, 2013

The holiday season is a great excuse to sparkle both day and night. Throughout the last two months of the year, it’s basically a requirement to shimmer and shine in some way. If you’re at a loss as to how to incorporate a little sparkle into your life, here are five ways to do it without looking like the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree.

Bust out the bling. Cocktail rings, statement necklaces, and stacks of bangles are an excellent way to add a little extra sparkle to your ensemble. Oscar de la Renta and J.Crew are great go-tos for holiday jewelry.

Upgrade your makeup. Clothing isn’t the only way to shine for the holidays. In fact, they’re the ideal opportunity to experiment with new makeup trends. Metallic eye shadow and glitter eyeliner are just a couple of ways to introduce sparkle into your beauty routine.

Dazzle with dresses. Every girl needs at least one sequined cocktail dress to wear to all of those great holiday parties. A sequined dress is the easiest way to get festive during the holiday season. You can never go wrong with basic black, but if you really want to step up your sparkle game, try white or gold.

Try a glitter manicure. Nail art has been and will continue to be a huge trend this holiday season. Go simple with a glitter topcoat, or take it to the next level with jeweled accents or a metallic French manicure.

Sparkly soles. Wearing sparkles on your clothing can be intimidating, so why not try the trend on your shoes? A pair of metallic snakeskin pumps or a glittery pair of booties will do wonders for your ho-hum holiday look.
