Admit it: You’re a complete shopaholic around the holidays. With all the coupon codes for a deep discount, there are few reasons to pay full price. Clothes, shoes, designer bags, and home décor are great but they’re even better when they go on sale. When it comes to the holidays, more is more, and it’s the time to put on your shopping game face. And never leave home without your coupon case.
Map out your shopping game plan ahead of time. Know who you need to shop for and roughly what you want to spend. This will save you time, money, and your sanity.
Sign up for online newsletters. Several sites will even offer free shipping. Most brands will let their email subscribers in on the season’s biggest sales first, and you’re going to want to get there early—especially if you’re coveting something hot.
Don’t be afraid to shop in person as well. Sometimes we get so caught up in online shopping that we forget the thrill of the hunt. It’s fun to feel all the great products and really see what you’re going to buy before you take the plunge.
Take advantage of competitor price-matching deals, especially at the big electronics stores. When you find the item you want, google it and make sure it isn’t offered for less money at another big-name retailer. If it is, show a store manager and he’ll likely give it to you at the better price
If you plan to brave the Black Friday sales in person, may the force be with you. But keep in mind most Black Friday sales are online too (plus, there’s always Cyber Monday). There are also early-bird “Black Friday” sales up to two weeks in advance of the national shopping holiday, many of which offer some of the steepest discounts of the year.
Use technology to your benefit. Download new apps from the App store, like Nifty, to keep track of coveted items and receive alerts when they go on sale.
