DIY Remedies for Dry Hair

DIY REMEDIES FOR DRY HAIR

The winter months can wreak havoc on even the healthiest of hair. To prevent the dreaded dry, parched strands that come with snow, hats, and wintertime, try our cheap and easy DIY tips.

1. Start With Your Scalp
Warm up some good old-fashioned castor oil and massage it onto your scalp. Keeping your scalp healthy and moisturized can make a huge difference with your hair.

2. Eat Right
Your hair needs healthy minerals and vitamins to stay strong and conditioned, so fill your diet with fruits like bananas and apples and vegetables like carrots, pumpkin, and spinach. All these foods contain hair-health-friendly vitamin A. And don’t forget to drink plenty of water!

3. Olive Oil and Honey Mask
Create a hydrating hair mask using ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen. Mix ½ cup of honey with 1 to 2 tablespoons of olive oil and apply to damp hair. Leave on for 20 minutes, then rinse with Dove Nourishing Oil Daily Treatment Shampoo and Conditioner. For extra-dry hair, you can add avocado and egg yolk to your mask.
