By  July 15, 2009

tomatoesWe all know that tomatoes are good for our health—they contain tons of vitamins, potassium, iron, and more—but those vitamins and those health benefits can also translate to beautiful skin. The vitamin C in tomatoes combats acne and brightens skin, while the vitamin A can lighten age spots and is often used to treat skin disorders. On top of that, the acidity of tomatoes can balance skin by ridding it of excess oil.

So with all the benefits your skin can reap from tomato, why not try an easy at-home mask with what was once just a delicious salad ingredient? The simplest way is to cover your face with tomato slices or cut one in half and rub it on your skin. More involved treatments range from pore reducers to acne treatment, and has a great list of concoctions to try.
