Donna Karan Brings Adriana Lima to Haiti for Her Spring 2012 Campaign

By  December 17, 2011

Donna Karan’s Spring 2012 campaign took quite the journey. The designer, who spent time volunteering in Haiti after the recent earthquake, was inspired by the region. This influence played out with a collection of body-conscious  clothes and graphic prints inspired by artist Philippe Dodar. In staying true to the season’s roots, Karan decided to shoot her campaign in the Caribbean country.

Adriana Lima stars in the stunning ads, which were photographed by

Russell James in and around the Hotel Florita in Jacmel to provide a look at the city’s textured way of life. Karan even used horn jewelry created by local Haitian artists for Donna Karan New York in the campaign to infuse more of the vibrant spirit of the country into the story. “Bringing awareness to Haiti has become a personal passion,” she said. “For spring, it was also my inspiration, bringing my two worlds together.”

The  campaign will debut in the March 2012 issue of your favorite magazines.
