Though Hannah Horvath isn’t always completely clued-in, Lena Dunham has made it clear that she is – especially when it comes to beauty. To compliment the Prada gown she wore on the red carpet at the Emmy Awards on Sunday, the Girls writer-director-actor looked to Jo Strettel to give her a super-edgy Marc Jacobs Beauty look. Inspired by the boldness of her Prada dress, the look that Strettel created for Lena was dramatic with similar black outlines and green highlights.

She began by blending two shades of the Marc Jacobs Beauty Genius Gel Super-Charged Foundation to achieve warmth. Then, she dusted Lena’s forehead and cheekbones with the Featherweight Perfection Powder to mattify. Cheeks were just slightly sculpted by a sweeping of Shameless Bold Blush in Rebellious. Both upper and lower lash lines were lined with Highlighter Gel Crayon in Blacquer to the outer ¾ of the eye to create a perfectly smudged ‘V’ shape. For an unexpected, yet cohesive, pop of color, Strettel added the same gel pencil in an emerald green shade called Intro(vert) to the inner corners of the eye. To achieve that smoky look, she then smudged out the lines with a matching shadow. Magic Marc’er Precision Pen, a black liquid liner, was added to the top lashline, and the eyes were finished with a generous helping of  the Beauty Lash Lifter Volume Mascara. The lips were kept neutral with a swipe of Lovemarc Lip Gel in Moody Margo. Not only is this look proof that Lena herself is a beauty force to be reckoned with — it confirms that Marc Jacobs definitely is, too. Get it while it’s hot!
