It’s time for our virtual monthly trip to the newsstand, let’s discuss who we can expect to see.

Elle magazine is pushing for the return of the supermodel glossy covers, starting with Joan Smalls, the number one model in the world. Inside, Smalls speaks out about the lack of diversity in fashion. “People hide behind the word aesthetic,” the cover girl said. “They say, ‘Well, it’s just that designer’s aesthetic.’ But when you see 18 seasons in a row and not one single model outside a certain skin color…?” Cheers to Elle for a year of diverse covers.

In news we all know but can’t get over, Playboy is celebrating 60 years of covers with the supermodel Kate Moss! The British face posed for the cover in bunny ears, French cuffs, a black bustier with a bunny tail on the back, and black sky-high stilettos for the diamond anniversary issue. Now the question is, how to buy this issue of Playboy without an awkward interaction with the sales person at the counter …

In other glamour news, Homeland’s Claire Danes is gracing the cover of the January issue of Glamour magazine. Inside the actress talks about her style on and off the small screen. “Carrie wears a lot of Theory… She’s a Theory girl,” she said of her character Carrie Mathison’s clothing choices.

Vanity Fair’s January cover girl Amy Adams spoke to the affluent publication about how her clothing choices changed once she became tan for her role in American Hustle, which required dancing in a white swimsuit. “It’s amazing what a tan can do,” she said. “Because I’m not tan, so that was fun to play with.”

Cara Delevingne is one model never shy about having a good time and for 2014 will embrace a new mantra “New Year, new you,” she told British Vogue after earning her second cover featuring a more mature look than we’ve come to expect from her wearing a Saint Laurent by Hedi Slimane shirt and tuxedo red leather pants.

So there you have it, the faces you can expect to see on the newsstand, the January edition. We’ll be sure to update this post as more covers are unveiled.
