Fall Trend: Oversize Everything

In February, designers supersized their fall 2012 runway on everything from coats to bags to hats. Now that autumn’s here, it’s time to incorporate the oversize trend into your look. It can be easy to get swallowed up in the style—designers like Marc Jacobs went all out with giant hats, exaggerated shoe buckles, and even a huge safety pin holding together an equally large scarf. To avoid looking like you’re drowning in couture (which maybe wouldn’t be the worst thing), pick one oversize accessory to rock at a time. An outsize yet chicly tailored, draped coat like the ones seen at Jil Sander are a safe bet. We also love the large-and-in-charge fur hats seen at Michael Kors and the gorgeous jumbo fold-over clutches spotted at Celine.
