FALL TREND: THE GREAT OUTDOORS
By Cara Chronis
October 03, 2012
Months ago, rugged hunting garb got a high-fashion makeover on the runways for fall 2012. Thick cable knit, tough leather accents, Fair Isle sweaters, and fitted tweed turned up looking chic and surprisingly feminine on the catwalk. Looking back at the bright red buffalo plaid at Michael Kors and muted plaid stripes at Richard Chai reminds us that it’s now time to pull out the flannel again for autumn. Earthy-hued chunky knits, as seen at Rodarte, are surprisingly easy to transition into your wardrobe in shades of orange and olive. In the market for a new coat this season? Try tweed or a parka with leather sleeves or accents.
