Watch: The 2014 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show Casting Video

By  November 20, 2014

Ever wonder what goes on behind the scenes of the most highly anticipated fashion show of the year? Well, here’s your answer—and it involves buoyant wavy hairstyles, itsy bitsy teeny weeny bikinis and a lot of air kisses (as one might expect). The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is merely weeks away, but this video takes us all the way back to when models were just vying for a spot in the show. It’s clear that these women don’t need sparkly lingerie and oversized wings to work their walk—but we’re still looking forward to watching it all come together on December 9.

4 Moods, 4 Looks

By  November 19, 2014

target-when-youre-feeling

This season, allow your ensembles to act as a reflection of yourself, whoever you are that particular day. When your mood meshes with your unique creativity, the possibilities of personal style are endless. We’re dynamic and multi-dimensional creatures, Glam girls, so the way you approach fashion should be too.

Whatever side of your style feels like shining on a particular day, it’s important to coordinate pieces for a look that carries all the way through for a pulled-together, synchronized aesthetic from top to bottom. When you’re reveling in a red-carpet frame of mind, put your most glamorous foot forward via a sky-high pair of pumps, sparkling accessories, and a haute Hollywood-ready red lip. On the opposite side of the style spectrum, laid back babes will want to rock a cool graphic tee, stretchy skinnies, and the effortless beanie and booties combination. As for those dreamy days, when you’re feeling flirty and feminine, a little bohemian and a whole lot of beautiful, don a flowy floral dress, awesomely accessorized with a fabulous fur vest, fringe, and leather. Feeling an edgier attitude coming on? Rocking a trendy city-chic look is a good go-to for most occasions. Get your street-style star status on with a fitted midi-dress, fierce stiletto booties, spike and studded earrings, and a cool cat eye.

Fashion is much more fun when you get in the routine of using it to reflect your identity. What attitude and influences are you feeling today?

Every day, we bring you celebrity sightings and stylings as seen everywhere from the streets to the red carpet. Whether they’re dolled up or dressed down, we can’t resist the need to know who wore what.

Rihanna traded in her sparkly Tom Ford nipple covers for something a little more, well, refined. In a far cry from the revealing pasty-dress she wore at the 2014 amfAR Gala, the singer went for a more demure gingham suit in a sugary sweet shade of pink. Though it’s not her usual red carpet MO, we have to say a non-risk-taking version of Rihanna is quite refreshing (right, well, she’s still not wearing a shirt…but it’s a start). The dark lipstick and messy hair give this look just the right amount of @badgalriri edge we know and love.

Kathy Griffin Will Succeed Joan Rivers On Fashion Police

By  November 19, 2014

KathyGriffinFPAfter much speculation, it has finally been confirmed that Kathy Griffin will take the place of late comedienne Joan Rivers on E!’s Fashion Police. Griffin will join Melissa Rivers, Giuliana Rancic and Kelly Osborne on the show, and it’s unclear as to whether George Kotsiopoulos will stay on. However, TMZ reports that instead of airing on a weekly basis, the show will only air during awards season and other special occasions as event programming.

A source told Us Weekly that, “Joan has always given her blessing to Kathy [and she] wanted Kathy to be her successor.” Well, it looks like Joan’s wishes are being honored, and we can’t wait to tune in to see what happens.

Less than a week after Ralph Rucci left his namesake label, he was honored at the Fashion Group International’s annual Tastemakers Luncheon at Le Cirque. In a conversation with André Leon Talley, Rucci said that he has decided what his next career move will be, but he was unable to disclose it. When asked why he left his line, he replied, “Because I needed to take a step into the future to put perspective in the past, so that I can redo the future.” [Women’s Wear Daily]

New platform Rebagg.com is breaking the mold of traditional re-commerce platforms by offering a convenient and time saving way to receive cash for last season’s “It” bag. Rebagg offers cash up front for the handbags you’re not wearing anymore and makes the re-sell process totally easy and painless. [Glam Inbox]

There’s a “new normal” in the toy industry: the Lammily doll, which is basically what Barbie would look like if she actually had the measurements of an average 19-year-old woman. She comes with a sticker extension pack, complete with cellulite, freckles, acne and scars to make her seem that much more “real.” Creator Nickolay Lamm made this toy because, “I wanted to show that reality is cool. And a lot of toys make kids go into fantasy, but why don’t they show real life is cool? It’s not perfect, but it’s really all we have. And that’s awesome.” [TIME]

Alexander Wang will open his first London store in Mayfair early next year. The shop will join brands including Paul Smith, Amanda Wakeley, Buccellati and Garrard & Co. on Albemarle Street with a shop that will span 6,500 square feet.  [Women’s Wear Daily]

Every day, we bring you celebrity sightings and stylings as seen everywhere from the streets to the red carpet. Whether they’re dolled up or dressed down, we can’t resist the need to know who wore what.

While the last gown that Angelina Jolie was one of the most buzzed-about of the year, her most recent frock was no less glamorous. The actress stepped out in Australia to attend the world premiere of her upcoming film Unbroken and wore an all-lace bespoke Gucci dress. Keeping her look otherwise minimal with natural looking makeup (save for va-va-voom eyelashes) and pulled back hair, she wore diamond studs and a simple tennis bracelet, and let her new hubby Brad Pitt stand out as her best accessory.

Style Scoop: The 2015 Pirelli Calendar, Opening Ceremony Does Wearable Tech With Intel, Miley Cyrus Strips Down For Terry Richardson…Again

By  November 18, 2014

StyleScoopNov18The annual Pirelli Calendar is here—and while it’s made by an Italian tire company,  there’s no denying that it’s awfully sexy. Shot by Steven Meisel and styled by Carine Roitfeld, the 2015 edition features models (in order of appearance) Adriana Lima, Natalia Vodianova, Joan Smalls, Candice Huffine, Carolyn Murphy, Anna Ewers, Cameron Russell, Sasha Luss, Karen Elson, Isabeli Fontana, Gigi Hadid and Raquel Zimmermann. Each model marks a month in impossibly hot pin-up fashion. [The Coveteur]

If you thought the wearable tech trend had come and gone, think again. Intel teamed up with Opening Ceremony to launch its first wearable tech device, called MICA (My Intelligent Communication Accessory). The accessory is a $495 jeweled bracelet that alerts you when you receive messages from designated “VIPs.” It also has a “Near You” feature, which helps you locate important establishments, such as local coffee shops. Miley Cyrus went topless…for tights. Terry Richardson directed a short film for tights brand Golden Lady, in which Cyrus is all-but-nude (duh). It’s all very much what you’d expect: you’ll see blow-up hearts, enormous teddy bears, gold chains, red lipsick and Miley’s boobs. Because we all needed a little bit more of that. [Fashionista]

Looking for the perfect party shoe? Nordstrom’s got you covered. The retailer debuted special design studios where customers can create their own shoes in-store. The Nordstrom in Bellevue, WA will house the first concept shop, launched in partnership with Shoes of Prey, a multi-channel retail platform that has tapped into the bespoke trend. Simply style your look on an iPad in the store and receive your customized shoes within four weeks of purchase. [Women’s Wear Daily]

George Kotsiopoulos returns to his roots with a vintage-inspired collection (which is geared towards women of all shapes, sizes and ages) to be sold on QVC beginning in February. No doubt this line will give the Fashion Police veteran a chance to work his TV skills once again, but it’ll also allow him to flex his styling muscles. Though he’s never designed before, something tells us that Kotsiopoulos knows what he’s doing. He said, “I never aspire to be Marc Jacobs. I’m trying to bring a little chic to everyone.” [Women’s Wear Daily]

Out today: Dior New Couture from Rizzoli. Filled with hundreds of exclusive photos shot by Patrick Demarchelier, the book is the photographer’s homage to the illustrious house and dates back to Christian Dior himself to current-day Dior with Raf Simons’ work. It also features a forward by former New York Times fashion critic Cathy Horyn. [Women’s Wear Daily]

Before his death, Oscar de la Renta collaborated with Rachel Zoe on a special holiday collection, exclusive to The Zoe Report. The collection features jewelry and home accessories that reflect de la Renta’s elegant spirit and love of life. A percentage of proceeds will benefit New Yorkers for Children, an organization supported by the late designer. [The Zoe Report]
