Every day, we bring you celebrity sightings and stylings as seen everywhere from the streets to the red carpet. Whether they’re dolled up or dressed down, we can’t resist the need to know who wore what.

Hollywood’s next big name is a familiar one: Greer Grammer, daughter of Kelsey Grammer, will serve as this year’s Miss Golden Globe. That means that come January 11, the young actress will be presenting award winners with the golden statues and hanging out with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. Grammer currently stars in MTV’s Awkward and acted alongside Leighton Meester, Adam Brody and Gabourey Sidibe in the film Life Partners, which received praise from critics at the Tribeca Film Festival. All things considered, this is one girl to keep an eye on in the coming months.

Style Scoop: Rihanna Might Collaborate With Puma, COS Is Opening Really Soon, Alexander McQueen To Open Store In Paris

By  November 21, 2014

StyleScoopNov21Is Rihanna on to yet another collaboration? The Daily News reports that the singer is close to signing a contract with Puma, bringing her right into the on-trend athleisure sector. She would be designing sneakers and some clothing—and surely sporting it all. [The Cut]

COS is set to open its first New York store in SoHo on December 5. H&M’s higher-end sister label will hit the city just in time for holiday shopping. If you or those you love are into the minimalism aesthetic and love anything structured or dusty-hued, you must check it out. Head to 129 Spring Street to see what SoHo’s buzziest new retailer has to offer. [Glam Inbox]

Alexander McQueen will open its first standalone store in Paris next summer at 372 Rue Saint-Honoré. Creative director Sarah Burton worked with David Collins Studio to come up with the store’s design and concept. It will carry the label’s runway, commercial and accessories collections, along with designs that run across seasons like its skull scarves. [Women’s Wear Daily]

New York’s Fifth Avenue is officially the most expensive place to lease retail space in the world. According to a report, rents on the street rose 13.3% to a record $3,500 a square foot a year in the last year. The value of space on Fifth Avenue surpasses those of other countries’ most expensive shopping streets, including Hong Kong’s Causeway Bay, Paris’ Champs-Elysées and London’s New Bond Street. Kate and Laura Mulleavy, the designers behind Rodarte, collaborated with The Rug Company on a collection of rugs in the interest of exploring art forms other than fashion. The collection features four designs: The Trellis design showcases an ivy motif that brings to mind fairytale fantasies, the Cobalt rug is inspired by 1970’s Northern California interiors, the Marble rug channels the theme of deconstruction, and the Ember rug interprets the landscape of America’s Death Valley. Here’s a scarlet letter I’m not afraid to brandish.

When I moved to New York City almost five years ago, I swore off my basics wardrobe. The one comprising an apparel company that shall remain nameless; my go-to for college parties and wild, strobe-lit affairs. It was time to step it up, so that even when I went for simple, it would still come across as streamlined and put-together.

Enter Ekineyo.

I first fell in love with the Brooklyn-based brand’s Babe Dress—a long-sleeved body-con with a single sheer panel along the lower hem. It was cool, clean, and above all, didn’t require the self-conscious pull-down that many women endure when their freakum dress (annoyingly!) rides up. It was a time when Ekineyo consisted primarily of nylon/spandex creations in fun prints and bold hues. A few years later, its offerings have expanded and, in a sense, grown up with me.

For a night out, I now opt for Ekineyo’s fleece coordinating set. Currently in black and red color ways, the two-piece set is forgiving (thanks peplum!), and cozy enough to dress up a cold fall evening on the town. Plus, the co-ordinate aspect is a plus: wear both together or mix-and-match for a combination of different approaches. Either way, you’ll feel sexy and sleek without crossing a thin, co-ed line.

Zappos Pops Up In Vegas

By  November 21, 2014

ZapposPopupZappos is following in the footsteps of e-tailers-turned-retailers like Warby Parker and Nasty Gal and setting up shop just in time for the holidays. The 20,000-square-foot 24-7 pop-up shop in downtown Las Vegas is merchandised with 16 different areas offering everything from couture to athletic wear. Basically, it’s real life Zappos.com.

The technology-driven pop-up is a sort of experiment for the online retailer. According to Steve Hill, vice president of merchandising at Zappos, the sales made at this shop “will inform future stores we decide to open.” Though there’s a finite amount of stock at the shop, with so much backup inventory online, Zappos anticipates that “no one will ever feel disappointed if [they] don’t have the size or color they want because they’ll get it the next day.”

Shopping aside, Zappos aims to make the store even more of a jovial holiday shopping experience. The parking lot has been transformed into a winter wonderland and the store’s café will serve hot chocolate and snacks, making it a perfect place to bring the kids. Oh, and there’s a bar that will serve alcoholic beverages for when all of the above merriment gets a little much.

For an actress who’s starring in a movie titles Wild, Reese Witherspoon took a relatively tame approach to her outfit for the film’s Beverly Hills premiere. Witherspoon looked radiant in a white hot cocktail dress, which she topped off with minimal jewelry and flawless makeup. So, in case you forget while you’re watching this movie, remember this impeccable outfit and that Witherspoon will always have a little bit of Elle Woods in her no matter how far into the wilderness she’s forced to hike. Here, she proves that a simple silhouette and a bright swipe of lipstick will catapult you to the top of any best-dressed list—as “any Cosmo girl would have known.”

With its new flagship store on Rodeo Drive, Burberry is welcoming technology with open arms. Thanks to chief creative officer and chief executive officer Christopher Bailey, the British brand is working on incorporating technology into its retail experience. Bailey points out that his Burberry is oppositional: “I would say, first, it’s brand of contradictions, so we’re heritage but we are also fashion. I love traditional service, but I love digital innovation. We are a big company, but we like to make sure what we do is intimate.” [Women’s Wear Daily]

Valentino Garavani chatted with Fern Mallis on Tuesday at 92Y about his new book The Last Emperor…and other things. While he dodged a few questions (namely those having to do with his age), the designer shared all kinds of stories from his illustrious career. He said: “My life, I dedicated to beauty, to nice things, to women. I tried to do my best, but I don’t know. In a certain way, at the end, I am quite proud because I did it with lots of love.” [Women’s Wear Daily]

Well, here’s your answer—and it involves buoyant wavy hairstyles, itsy bitsy teeny weeny bikinis and a lot of air kisses (as one might expect). The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is merely weeks away, but this video takes us all the way back to when models were just vying for a spot in the show. It’s clear that these women don’t need sparkly lingerie and oversized wings to work their walk—but we’re still looking forward to watching it all come together on December 9.

4 Moods, 4 Looks

By  November 19, 2014

target-when-youre-feeling

This season, allow your ensembles to act as a reflection of yourself, whoever you are that particular day. When your mood meshes with your unique creativity, the possibilities of personal style are endless. We’re dynamic and multi-dimensional creatures, Glam girls, so the way you approach fashion should be too.

Whatever side of your style feels like shining on a particular day, it’s important to coordinate pieces for a look that carries all the way through for a pulled-together, synchronized aesthetic from top to bottom. When you’re reveling in a red-carpet frame of mind, put your most glamorous foot forward via a sky-high pair of pumps, sparkling accessories, and a haute Hollywood-ready red lip. On the opposite side of the style spectrum, laid back babes will want to rock a cool graphic tee, stretchy skinnies, and the effortless beanie and booties combination. As for those dreamy days, when you’re feeling flirty and feminine, a little bohemian and a whole lot of beautiful, don a flowy floral dress, awesomely accessorized with a fabulous fur vest, fringe, and leather. Feeling an edgier attitude coming on? Rocking a trendy city-chic look is a good go-to for most occasions. Get your street-style star status on with a fitted midi-dress, fierce stiletto booties, spike and studded earrings, and a cool cat eye.

Fashion is much more fun when you get in the routine of using it to reflect your identity. What attitude and influences are you feeling today?
