I’m usually not a sunglasses person. Sure, I own a few pairs—cheapies from Forever 21 and the like, but I told myself I wouldn’t take the plunge into owning a real pair of sunnies until I could prove I could take care of the ones I already own. I haven’t lost any in my existing collection so I can proudly say I deserve to branch off into bigger and better.

Enter Fendi’s rounded enamel sunglasses.

When I tried them on at Solstice Sunglasses, I loved that the navy blue oversized lenses matched the arms on the frames. I wasn’t the only one who couldn’t get enough of Fendi’s new color block eyewear launch. “That is an extremely popular pair,” a sales associate said. “Bergdorf’s can’t keep them stocked.” Oh? Is it horrible that the fashion girl in me rejoiced that I had something on my face Bergdorf Goodman couldn’t keep on the shelves?

I’m imagining myself wearing these babies on the train to avoid making eye contact, to music festivals and to brunch Sunday afternoons. But first, I’m looking forward to the summer solistice. —Channing Hargrove
