Salvatore Ferragamo brought a heavy dose of fabulous to Fifth Avenue Thursday evening with the re-opening of it’s flagship. To celebrate the occasion, the venerable Italian brand joined forces with Mr. & Mrs. Smith Hotel Collection: Italy to welcome a slew of fashion insiders to the sleek store for a soiree to benefit The Society of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center’s Pediatric Family Housing Endowment. Hosts Massimo and Chiara Ferragamo along with MSKCC chairmen Nina Garcia Conrod, Eugenie Niven Goodman, Emilia Fanjul Pfeifler and Gretchen Gunlocke Fenton encouraged guests to to check out the Spring 2012 collection and an exclusive preview of the travel luggage range. Solange spun for the crowd, which included Fabiola Beracasa, Hannah Bronfman, and Genevieve Jones, who were all clad in Ferragamo. “The Women’s Spring Summer collection is an explosion of color and prints,” said creative director Massimiliano Giornetti. “I enjoyed exploring the playful and glowing side of a woman who throws herself without reservation into the joys of summer.” And last night that exuberant spirit prevailed.
