Finding the Perfect Holiday Dress

By  December 12, 2012

To pick your perfect holiday dress, fashionistas must determine what style they’re going for and the silhouette that will best suit them. From holiday parties to New Year Eve galas, the season’s hautest frocks are featuring peekaboo lace, velvet, sequins, metallics, ruffles and plumes, and embroidery. Sure, a class LBD is always the go to back up option, but these daring trends shouldn’t push you in that direction. If you’re looking for a more standout dress, go for an all over glitter design or a skirt with feather detailing. But the more subtle stylista can rock winter’s must have looks too. Choose a dress with more intricate embellishment either on the top or bottom, but perhaps not both. Peekaboo lace, too, doesn’t have to be all over. Choose a garment with enough of the accent to give your look an edge, but making sure you feel comfortable too. In terms of silhouette, we’re seeing skater style fit and flare dresses, knee length pencil type skirt, and flirty silk shifts like this sequin and metallic getup from Life, Love and the Pursuit of Shoes. We love this one too; a black tulle dress with cap sleeves and a full skirt featuring delicate flower sequins and glittery heels. Check out more gorgeous holiday dress options here.
