Forever 21 Jumps (Feet First) Into Shoes

By  January 02, 2014

Forever21FootwearOn the heels of Nasty Gal’s release of its Shoe Cult line (pun intended), we’re presented with a premium leather shoe line from another fashion favorite, Forever 21. The collection, which will retail from $49 to $79, debuted online today and will roll out to Los Angeles stores on January 3rd, eventually reaching nationwide shops by January 10th.

Linda Chang, Marketing Director of Forever 21, told Footwear News (via WWD), “The breadth of this line extends beyond what most of our consumers believe is the Forever 21 brand. Our new shoe collection allows us to offer premium items that complement our apparel categories, both reaching our current customers as well as attracting new ones.”

Forever 21’s new shoe line is a step up from the retailer’s current footwear offerings. The leather collection features options with cutouts, buckles, metallic hues and gold hardware. With 10 styles of fashion-forward footwear, Chang adds, “we hope our premium shoe line will sustain momentum by introducing new products that fit our customers’ lifestyle.” Given Forever 21′s ability to produce items at such a rapid pace, it will be interesting to see how the shoe line transitions from the current offerings to this premium level.
