From the AMAs to the Holidays, 4 Celeb Inspired Party Outfits

By  November 25, 2013

In anticipation for the holiday galas and festive parties happening in the next couple of weeks, we like to begin drawing ensemble-inspiration than from the red carpet, where celebrities don designer garb sure to spark our fashion fantasies. The styles worn at the 2013 American Music Awards Sunday night did just that. While we skipped the couture names and Hollywood designs, we pulled from four of our favorite looks for our own holiday party inspiration. There’s one for whatever your personal style or upcoming festivity may be!

Get-the-look-2013-AMA's

Before her controversial Geisha-themed performance, Katy Perry showed up to the 2013 AMAs wearing not a kimono, but a floor length polka-dot and rose bud print fit-and-flare dress by Oscar de la Renta. If you’re looking for a fun and flirty frock this season, then this style is for you. The flattering silhouette is versatile and always a classic, and the dark floral pattern makes it ultra feminine and winter appropriate. Add tights underneath if you please, and wear it with booties or pumps.

A slim suit is stylish and conservative, the perfect outfit for a holiday work party. We love that a just-turned-21 Miley Cyrus chose to rock her trouser and blazer pairing in a shade of winter white. Though the plunging neckline on her Versace tuxedo jacket was very AMAs appropriate, we suggest you button yours up before your event! Jazz up the look with metallic pumps, a sparkling necklace, and an attention-grabbing box clutch to take the classic look to contemporary times.

Taylor Swift‘s embellished mini dress featured the type of sparkle and shine that goes hand in hand with this festive season. While the sexy cut-out on her Julien Macdonald mini is hot for the red carpet, you can find frocks in the same style with different designs. Wear the gilded gold sheath for an evening affair or cocktail party. Accessorize with holiday appropriate heels and, as it’s winter, a warm oversized coat to get you to and from the event.

The dazzling princess dress by Rami Al Ali that Kelly Osbourne wore to the AMAs was devastatingly dreamy, the perfect type of gown for your holiday gala. A black tie affair calls for something that stands out, after all. We can’t get over how beautiful that silver-grey color with metallic embellishment is–make sure to rock a smoky eye to match.
