From the Met Ball’s Red Carpet Straight to Your Closet

Along with its position as a sponsor of the Met Ball, Moda Operandi is really embracing the spirit of the punk movement. In anticipation of the major gala, the online retailer launched a capsule collaboration with twelve different designers, but decided to take the punk feeling one step further.

As it turns out, Moda Operandi is working with designers and celebrities to sell the red carpet fashion choices from the Costume Institute Gala online the next day! Considering the site’s business model—providing access to designer pieces fresh from the runway—this news makes complete sense.

“Events like the Met Gala offer some of the most spectacular fashion moments because they inspire experimentation,” Moda Operandi co-founder Lauren Santo Domingo said in a release. “We are thrilled to be able to provide women with access to the fashions from one of the world’s most thrilling red carpet events.”

Specific details including which designs will be available for sale and the price said designer frocks will be listed for has not been divulged. We presume that you’ll need some seriously deep pockets to snag a design from the site.
