(1 of 9) New York's Best-Dressed StarsNew York is known for its star-studded affairs, but few are as glittering as the annual Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. This spring’s fete was no exception: Held in honor of the new Poiret: King of Fashion exhibition, the party attracted the crème de la crème of fashion and Hollywood elite. Here are a few sartorial successes that stood out on the red carpet: Cameron Diaz Purple Haze: Diaz scores extra points for pairing unusual jewels—Fred Leighton’s turquoise stunners—with Dior’s fuchsia silk confection.
That might be one of the ugliest dresses i've ever seen. Her hair and jevelry look really cute together but that dress!

i think mixing the bright coloured jewelry with the dress was a bold move which i think could have potentially paid off, && did for the most part. BUT for whatever reason the ruffles at the bottom just aren`t working for her; she would have been better off keeping the ruffles at the top && cutting off the dress an inch or two above the knee. btw, her hair && make-up are FAB!

i completely agree the ruffles have to go...i mean a little ruffle here and there is sometimes beatiful...but this is too much! plus if you notice the dress gives no attenion to her wonderful curves, I the purple on her its just....the design, its seems as if the scissors went crazy and didnt let the dress flow..
