McQueen’s lightweight ensembles—feather-trimmed gowns, python-print gray suits, and chiffon dresses with cage-like bodices—are a far cry from his sinister-looking fall collection. Though not visible to the casual observer, these fantastical creations come with a touch of sobriety; McQueen’s inventive collection is dedicated to his recently deceased friend and style icon Isabella Blow. She, and other rare birds in the fashion flock, would no doubt approve of his flights of fancy.
