Notable Nominations: Game of Thrones Reigns Over 2014 Emmy Noms

All men must die. And all television shows must contend for a spot on the annual Primetime Emmys ballot.

This year, Game of Thrones enters the ceremony as the most-nominated series, with 19 chances to take home the gold for categories including Outstanding Drama, Outstanding Supporting Actor and Actress, Outstanding Writing, and Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series. The tally—along with 12 noms for True Detective and seven for Boardwalk Empire—helped HBO become the most-nominated network with an impressive 99 nominations across the board; NBC comes second, with only 47.
