Color us excited when we got the first glimpse of Claire Danes’ spread in the November issue of Interview. Sure, we’re huge fans of Homeland, but we were especially delighted to see the star primped for the holiday season in a deep pout and gold shadow, which is usually a very difficult shade to pull off.
The metallic, Olympic-worthy hue can come with chunky glitter that can read juvenile or messy, but not in this case. To rock the color right, we suggest selecting a shadow that either swatches like liquid metal for a cream (no flaking flecks allowed) or appears like a gentle glistening wash. Pat on the shadow with a tapered shadow brush and sweep it up into the crease. Add a bold lip (preferably matte), and you’re set for whatever festive fête you’re attending this season.
