The MTV Video Music Awards had no shortage of bare skin, but adorable rapper Becky G. showed up with a modest interpretation of what seemed to be the night’s theme. Aside from her too-cute skirt and crop top getup, the 16-year-old sported age-appropriate makeup and a manicure to boot. CoverGirl makeup artist Dotti gave her a clean smoky eye with shadow a shade lighter than her skin color, Ink It! liner (smudged, of course) and Flamed Out Mascara to finish. She achieved flawless skin using the Clean Whipped Crème Foundation and Clean Glow Blush in Roses. Powder was applied to keep the shine away. Becky’s lips were lined and filled with a soft berry liner with the Lipslicks Smoochies Lip Balm in Be Sweet on top. Wetslicks Fruit Spritzers Lipgloss in Papaya Splash was swiped on top to give her a super juicy pout.
And, those nails! With Brooklyn as the inspiration behind the look, Becky’s nails were coated with Covergirl Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Gloss in Snow Storm and embellished with the bright Outlast Stay Brilliant Glosstini colors. Bahama Mama, Lemon Drop, Sangria and Blue Hawaiian shades all helped Becky achieve a Brooklyn-focused mani. The graffiti designs were achieved by tapping a sponge on the nails while they were still wet to mix the colors together. Her fresh and fierce look kept her ensemble edgy yet age-appropriate – and the best part is that we can totally pull it off ourselves.
