As all city girls know, their purse is the equivalent of everyone else’s car – the vessel for all your belongings, a statement to the world, and a functional accessory that needs to translate from day to night.
In an effort to continue to marry form and function, Mackage designers Elisa Dahan and Eran Elfassy paired with PurseBlog founder Meghan Mahoney Dusil on their version of the IT bag. Using high quality leather, the trio created the “Nomad,” a multi-functional, high quality bag showcasing details that call to mind elements of the brand’s cult-worthy leather jackets.
But this is hardly a single handbag. The Nomad transforms into three different designs – one with two storage sections that can be separated into two small clutches or one larger cross-body bag. “I always pay special attention to details and knew that the bag needed to have a certain look, yet be functional,” says Elfassy. “While the zippers offer a cool factor to the design, they also serve a practical purpose – unzip and the bag transforms into two.”
In order to bring this bag to fruition, Dusil traveled to Canada to spend time with Dahan and Elfassy, conjoining their different visions and aesthetics into one singular creation.
