In an effort to help you get to know the #GlamFam a little bit better, we’re shining the spotlight on our beloved publishers. Meet Danielle Gray, The Style and Beauty Doctor.
How long have you been in the #GlamFam?
What’s your favorite part about being in the network?
Being able to meet so many other great bloggers and working on campaigns together.
What’s The Style and Beauty Doctor all about?
My blog is a safe haven for the fashion and beauty obsessed—we pass no judgement if you own ten lipsticks in similar shades or if you buy shoes on your lunch break everyday. I also help women of all ages, colors, and sizes find what looks best and cover topics on travel, fitness, and the latest in fashion and beauty products.
Why did you start blogging?
2007—I did it as a creative outlet while I worked full time in Finance. In 2010 I quit my day job to run the blog and became a freelance fashion and beauty writer.
What are some of your favorite fashion or beauty trends right now?
I’m really loving the cropped trend—but I love that this time around it’s a faux crop which is super forgiving…lol. I also love printed bombers—they were on the runways a lot at NYFW and I’m so happy spring is here so I can buy them all. For beauty I love pops of color and a full brow.
Where do you find the best online deals?
Sometimes I’m too hyper to get new stuff that I don’t wait for sales, but I love using sites like RetailMeNot for coupon codes.
What’s a hairstyle you’ve always wanted to try but have been afraid to?
I think I’ve actually tried every hairstyle I wanted to try…lol. One of the great things about working for myself in such a creative field as opposed to Finance is I get to finally experiment as much as I want.
What’s your go-to lip shade?
Ohhh—hard to pick one as I love lip color—but recently I’ve been mixing Iman Cosmetics Luxury Moisturizing Lipstick in Taboo with Milani Lip Intense in Violet Addict which gives me a really pretty plummy pink. I’m pretty sure I have a lipstick that looks exactly like this on its own, but refer back to question #3…lol.
Do you have a signature scent?
I often don’t wear the same scent more than a few months, but they’re almost always in the woody oriental category.
What are your some of your favorite blogs to read?
What are some of your blogging goals? Do you see yourself blogging five or ten years from now?
I definitely see myself still blogging years from now—if there’s new beauty products coming out, I’ll definitely want to keep trying them out and sharing in my space. I would love to also work on the beauty marketing side and write a novel or two in the future.
