Don’t call it a comeback… and don’t call it a reunion song either. As Kelly Rowland preps the release of her fourth solo album, Talk A Good Game, her anticipated collaboration with Destiny’s Child bandmates Beyoncé Knowles and Michelle Williams has entered the world wide web. “You’ve Changed” is the trailblazing trio’s second new recording since their 2004 farewell album Destiny Fulfilled (their first was the Pharrell-produced “Nuclear” from January’s Love Songs compilation). As the “Dirty Laundry” singer explained to Billboard though, it’s not a DC3 record, but rather a creative project from three superstar friends. “It’s not a Destiny’s Child track,” Rowland confirmed. “It’s me featuring Beyoncé and Michelle.”
Rowland opens up the mid-tempo by beckoning Knowles and Williams to “do it again,” before breaking in to a powerful melody about letting go of a relationship gone wrong. The Harmony Samuels-produced track is one of 15 songs that made the cut for the deluxe version of her album, which will hit shelves on June 18. Whether or not this track foreshadows a full-on Destiny’s Child comeback (can we get a post-Mrs. Carter Show revue?), fans of Rowland can catch her on the Lights Out tour with hitmaker The Dream, and sitting pretty at the judge’s table for X-Factor‘s new season.
