Grammys 2014: Get Katy Perry’s Prismatic Glow

By  January 27, 2014

Katy Perry once again had everyone turning their necks to get a good look at her thematic Valentino gown at Sunday night’s Grammys. She paired the bold look with a softly sculpted bun crafted by Renato Campora and fresh makeup perfect for spring from her go-to makeup guru, Jake Bailey – both looks that are sure to be show-stopping come wedding season.

Campora started by spritzing Perry’s hair with the Herbal Essences Naked Sheer Shine Mist before blowing it out for sleek strands. He then pulled her tresses into a tight ponytail, spraying the brand’s Naked Dry Shampoo to add texture to the tail. Next, he twisted the ponytail and wrapped it around the base of the hair to craft the crown, securing it with a bunch of bobby pins and a hearty blast of the Naked Flexible Hold Spritzer to set.

Bailey set to work complementing the ethereal gown by prepping the skin with Olay’s Regenerist Luminous Tone Perfecting Cream before mixing CoverGirl BB Cream and TruBlend Liquid Foundation, softly brushing it onto her skin. For the eyes, he first created a thin cat eye with the Bombshell Liquid Liner before adding a few generous coats of the Bombshell Volume Mascara. He then applied the Bombshell Shine Shadow in Gold Goddess in the crease of her eyelid and highlighted her lids and browbone with the Flamed Out Shadow in Blazing White. He contoured the pop star by blending the TruMagic Sunkisser and Luminizer, blending the Sunkisser along the hairline and the hallow of the cheeks and dappled the cheekbones, tip of her nose, and the cupids bow with the Luminizer. After dusting a bit of shimmering coral blush and setting the makeup with the CoverGirl + Olay Pressed Powder, he polished her pout with the LipPerfection in Heavenly, topping it off with a bit of balm.

With a penchant for animated nail art, Perry shocked fans with a more subdued mani that came care of Kimmie Kyees, who applied two coats of the brand’s Outlast Nail Gloss in pretty pink called Everbloom.
