It’s been quite the whirlwind week for Frida Giannini. Gucci’s creative director is only in New York for a few days, but that’s more than enough time for her to launch an iPhone app, accept an award, open a center and host a bash. On Thursday morning Giannini trekked to Yonkers to join Mary J. Blige in cutting the ribbon on the Mary J. Blige Center for Women. Then last night, Blige returned the favor and joined actor James Franco in presenting Giannini with the Fashion Group International Design Star Honor. And tonight Giannini and Mark Ronson will celebrate the opening of the Gucci Icon pop-up store and unveil their sneaker collaboration. Not a bad way to end the week!
