Gwyneth Paltrow’s Building You a Better Blow Out

After building her own blowout bar with David Babaii, Gwyneth Paltrow is cutting in a new partner.

The star and the stylist have joined forces with Blo Blow Dry Bar. They will not only serve as the face and hands of the brand, but also have input on its creative direction, growth plans, and brand strategy–all to ensure that everyone can get red carpet ready tresses at its 50 locations worldwide. “I cannot wait to grow Blo with Gwyneth and David. They are the perfect fit for our company,” Ari Yakobson, Blo Blow Dry Bar’s CEO, said in a statement. “This combination and a proven business model is exciting. This is a tremendous benefit for our current and future Franchise Partners; our loyal guests are going to love this collaboration.”

Babaii, named the King of Curl by Vogue, is ready to jump in with plans to add new techniques and looks to the salon’s menu and to continue working closely with his pal, Paltrow. “Their entire team is the coolest you’ll ever meet. I am just so excited and so is Gwyneth,” he told People. “I get to work with someone that’s been my dear friend and inspiration for so man-years. How much better can it get? Gwyneth is so smart and cool and we work so well together. We’ve been friends for 12 years, and she’s been such a support to me with everything. When we opened our first blow dry bar with Tracy Anderson, it was for members only, but there was overwhelming demand.”

While Paltrow’s focus has been on Goop and Restorsea as of late, the star and Babaii actually opened their own Brentwood salon back in April of 2013 in partnership with Tracy Anderson. This came as other stylish stars like Katie Holmes, Jennifer Aniston, and Rachel Zoe entered the hair care industry. While most blow out bars avoid curls, we’re psyched to see how Babaii will incorporate twisted tresses into the refreshed menu.
