Hair How To: The Reverse French Braid

By  January 15, 2013

In the hastiness of the holidays, we tend to rush things and many can be forgotten. If any of you remember when I rocked this sick reverse braid and wanted to know how to get the look yourselves, you won’t have to wait any longer. I kept watch as John Barrett Salon Top Stylist, Marco Maranghello, gave me the lovely look, and now you craft this chic coif at home!

He first began by spritzing on a bit of the new Shu Uemura Art of Hair Essence Absolue in my tresses to give them a bit of slip and brushing the product through for smoothness. Next starting at the nape of the neck and working his way upward, Maranghello began to French braid the hair up to the crown, slipping in bobby pins into the braid along the way. Once he reached my crown, he then wrapped the tail in a hair tie and curled the ends. Finally, he sealed the style with some hairspray for hold and more of the Essence Absolue for shine.

I even got the look to last overnight after wrapping my head in a silk scarf and freshening the shine the next morning with another spritz of the deliciously scented hair oil that we’ve continued using it whenever our strands are in need of extra shine!
