… Well, as high fashion as the Greenpoint, Brooklyn-based writer could get. Girls creator Lena Dunham who plays Horvath on HBO’s Emmy nominated comedy series let it slip backstage at Miu Miu that her character was going to have a bit of style overhaul.
“I made a decision that Hannah was going to wear more pants,” the actress clad in a patent leather red trench coat, black dress, heels and clutch told Women’s Wear Daily. “I’m not going to say they’re flattering pants, but she’s moving in a more ‘Annie Hall’ direction, and in a less Mormon housewife direction.”
These are exciting times for Dunham’s character who has a penchant of appearing on camera sans bottoms—of any sort. And from the photos we’ve seen online, not only will Hannah wear more pants, but she will embrace color and a Cambridge Satchel, which appears to be on the verge of a comeback.
No word on how the other girls style, Shoshanna or Marni’s style will change, like their relationship status. Girls is slated to return to our TVs in early January but for now, this Saturday Night Live skit will have to hold us over.
