All the cool kids are—or soon to be—in Brooklyn.

When the New Jersey Nets relocated to the borough, we wonder if they had any idea of the trend they were starting. Following suit, the MTV Music Awards will be filmed in the borough in August and now residents will have another reason to rejoice: H&M is setting up shop downtown!

The Swedish retailer is opening its long-awaited doors at the store’s new 497-501 Fulton Street location this Wednesday. The grand opening will be marked with a block party hosted by Power 105.1 and DJ EmEz complete with music, games, food, and prizes like H&M gift cards and concert tickets.  To top it off, this summer, the retailer is sponsoring an H&M concert series at Williamsburg Park.

“Opening in downtown Brooklyn is a major milestone for us,” an H&M spokeswoman told Women’s Wear Daily. “We believe in Brooklyn very much. It’s an important part of our strategy for expansion in New York City.”

H&M isn’t the only store spreading its reach to Brooklyn. Nordstrom Rack and J.Crew also are spreading the fashion love Brooklyn’s way.
